Strategic Planning

The Ramsey County Workforce Investment Board’s Strategic Planning Session was held on March 5, 2009. The WIB is now completing work from the meeting and developing the written Strategic Plan that will determine the WIB's focus for the next three years.
 

Mission and Vision

As part of the pre-work, members were asked to comment on the WIB's 2003 Mission Statement. To review the discussion visit  www.rcwib.com/strategicplan/discussion.

A follow-up meeting was held on March 24 to finalize the WIB's Mission and Vision statements, as discussed at the Strategic Planning Session. The resulting statements are:

• RCWIB Vision:
  • The RCWIB will be the recognized leader in identifying future workforce issues and developing appropriate responses to those issues.
• RCWIB Mission:
  • To be the catalyst for comprehensive workforce development strategies that address both employer and job seeker needs.
     

Focus Area Discussions

At the session, the WIB identified key focus areas for the new Strategic Plan; the resulting focus areas are:

1. Increasing the educational alignment between education systems and employer needs, and
2. Building awareness and engagement of business.
