WIB Committees
Much of the work of the WIB is accomplished in the five committees. The Executive
Committee reviews the work of the other committees and makes recommendations to
the full board. There are also several ad hoc committees that take on
specific tasks and projects.
The Executive Committee is made up of the WIB Chair, Chair-Elect,
Past Chair, Treasurer, the committee Chairs and a few at-large members. The
committee is responsible for reviewing the financial statements,
setting the budget, and reviewing decisions as they move up from the committees. From there, the
Executive Committee makes recommendations to the full board. Meetings are held
monthly.

The Market Trends and Oversight Committee is the result of a recent merge
between the CAO and Workforce Committees. The new committee is
currently identifying their charge and priorities. This committee
meets monthly at the Ramsey County WorkForce Center-Saint Paul for
1.5 hours.

The Youth Council serves as a “WIB” focused on workforce development for youth.
The Youth Council meets monthly for 1.5 hours at the Ramsey County WorkForce
Center- Saint Paul.

The charge of the Education Committee includes ensuring the community
is aware of and engaged in local workforce initiatives. Education
plays an important role in workforce development, including
developing customized training to serve businesses in need of
skilled workers, preparing youth for successful careers in demand
industries, and providing Adult Basic Education services for the
community.
The Education Committee meets on the first Monday of odd months for
1.5 hours at the Ramsey County WorkForce Center- North Saint Paul.

The Friends of the Workforce Investment Board (Friends of the WIB) is an
independent 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in October of 2004 to serve as
the employer of record and fiscal agent for the WIB and its staff. The Board of Directors is made up of current and past WIB members and other
individuals in the committee interested in workforce development. The Board
receives quarterly updates on the WIB's accomplishments and meets annually at
the fiscal year end.
