Why Support the WIB?

The WIB is in a unique position to convene community partners to guide workforce development in Ramsey County and to ensure the diverse interests of our community are addressed. The WIB is currently focusing on two key initiatives:

• Metropolitan Manufacturing Sector Initiative (MMSI )
• Building Lives 

Catalyst for Change and Community Convener

As a catalyst for change and a community convener, the WIB brings together partners to leverage funding and address key workforce issues, such as:

• Training and hiring needs of local manufacturers
• Addressing the shortage of highly skilled healthcare workers
• Challenging employment issues of youth ex-offenders
• Future labor shortage
• Growing needs of dislocated workers

How to Support the WIB

The WIB strives to serve the east metro area by creating innovative solutions to barriers identified in the workforce system.  In order to become more effective, the WIB created a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization through which it extends beyond the restraints of public funding.  With its unique structure, the WIB is able to reach out to community partners to implement solutions, allowing workforce partners and community based organizations to leverage their funds and affect greater change.

The WIB seeks funding for collaborative projects within the community, as well as funds for general operations.  If you have further questions, or would like to know how to further help, please contact us.
