ANNOUNCEMENTS!

• The Ramsey County WIB Healthcare Initiative was selected for the Minnesota Workforce Council Association's Best Practice award at their summer meeting in August.  Thank you and congratulations to all partners involved in this project. 

• The Ramsey County Workforce Investment Board is pleased to share its 2009 Annual Report.

• The next meeting of the WIB's Healthcare Initiative is Wednesday, October 13, 8:30-10:00am at the Saint Paul College Customized Training Center (NEW LOCATION- click link for directions).

• The Ramsey County Workforce Investment Board submitted its 2010 Local Plan to the state- documents are available for review below.

  • Attachments (two)– documents describe a change in the Joint Powers Agreement providing for three Education positions and 1 Economic Development position on the WIB. Ramsey County Board Resolution and Saint Paul City Council Resolution.

• The merged Communications, Advocacy and Oversight/Workforce Committee voted on April 9th to change their name to the Market Trends and Oversight Committee. 

• Congratulations to the City of Minneapolis Employment and Training Program, in partnership with Ramsey County Workforce Solutions, for their award of a $4M Pathways Out of Poverty grant through the U.S. Department of Labor.  The grant will support training activities for 500 disadvantaged citizens, with a focus on the economic development opportunities present in the emerging green industry. • Congratulations to the Blue Green Alliance for receiving a $5M U.S. Department of Labor grant that will focus on Minnesota’s manufacturing sector with a goal of training more than 2,000 workers to secure manufacturing jobs in the clean energy economy.  The activities of the grant will focus on the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area, Southwest Minnesota and the Iron Range.
